Join us for a concert of unbridled passion! Beethoven poured intense passion into his only concerto for a solo instrument other than the piano and demanded the same from the performers. The violin concerto fills a complete half of the concert, testament to the emotional journey upon which you will be taken. Tchaikovsky’s 6th Symphony was entitled ‘Pathétique’ after his death, but quite possibly the title refers to the Grande Passion Pathétique of French Opera - less of our ‘pathetic’. Tchaikovsky declared “I love it more than any of my musical offspring”. Undoubtedly, this, too, is a passionate and highly emotional outpouring of deeply held feelings - bring a hanky!
Doors open 2.30pm. Concert starts 3pm.
