Meet the Orchestra

Fiona MacDonald

Fiona was brought up in Sheffield and played with the City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra from the age of 14 - 21. She studied Psychology rather than music, but has always kept up her playing. She played in the Newcastle University Orchestra and the New Tyneside Orchestra before joining the Richmondshire Orchestr in 2007, after a move to Darlington.

She regularly played in a string quartet while living in Tyneside. Since familiy commitments increased she has not had the opportunity to play chamber music regularly, but it is a plan for retirement! More recently, she has played in Cleveland Chamber Orchestra since 2002, and has played for Durham Choral Society and Richmondshire Choral Society performances on a number of occasions. She has been the Leader of Richmondshire Orchestra since 2014.
